Who are your volunteers and how are they trained?
As a 100% volunteer run company all of our leadership team give up some of their free time to run Outright Adventure and create a safe space for kids to enjoy the outdoors. All Outright Adventure adults follow an application process before joining, this includes an application form, references and a disclosure and baring services (DBS) check.
Once initial checks are completed the adult member will complete mandatory training which includes safeguarding and first aid. Adults in management positions such as section and group coordinators will undergo further training so that they can organise overnight trips like camping and sleepovers
Any activities that are governed by national bodies will be run in accordance with the NGB guidelines and only by adults with the relevant qualifications.
Are there rules volunteers must follow?
Yes, all Outright Adventure adults must follow our code of conduct and activities must be run in accordance with all governance, policies and safety information.

Outings and overnight stays
For any activities outside of the weekly program, coordinators will provide full information on the timings, location and contact details for the activity through our online membership system Navigate. We will never ask to take individual young people away on their own or without another adult being present.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are fully insured up to £10,000,000 for public liability and £5,000,000 employers liability, with Activities Industry Mutual. If you'd like to see a copy of our insurance certificates please get in touch.
Can I stay for the session?
We welcome parent help, however this will be in line with our safeguarding policies. Parents are able to come to up to one session per half term, but if you would like to come more regularly then you will need to join as an Outright Adventure Volunteer.
